Family Law - My approach

People who consult with a family law attorney are at a vulnerable crossroad in their life.  Relationships and financial arrangements have become destabilized. This is a particularly difficult time to see things objectively and effectively deal with a myriad of problems.  As a result, hiring the right lawyer for your situation is imperative for it can make a huge difference in the ultimate outcome and one’s well being.

“It my hope that each client leaves my office with the security of knowing what to expect. how to deal with it, and the confidence that their concerns will be addressed.  My goal is to educate the client about the legal process and create realistic expectations based upon my years of experience in the courtroom.  Together, we will craft the blueprint that will guide you through the legal process and ultimately allow you to begin to rebuild your life.”
-Patrick M. McCarthy, Esq.

Thoughts on cases involving minor children…
In my view, there is no case that’s more important than a case that involves a minor child.  As a parent, I am particularly sensitive to the parent-child relationship and the need to protect children.  The impact of a protracted, antagonistic divorce or family law matter can be devastating.  Therefore, counseling parents to focus upon what is in the best interests of their child is one of my primary objectives.  Before a zealous antagonistic maneuver is taken, all factors must be carefully considered.  As your legal advocate, it is imperative that my clients first understand the dynamics of a family law case before they work with me in formulating a strategy that will translate into achieving the results the client wishes.

I look forward to meeting with you and answering all your questions about the legal process, its effect on minor children, adoption, property division, child support, spousal support, health care issues, tax issues, attorney’s fees and any particular concern that you may have about the process.
